Hello and good morning! Welcome to another great week - hope you all are crushing it in whatever you’re up to.

Paris embraces sustainability for their 2024 Summer Olympics 🥇

In direct contrast of the “pharaonic projects” of past Olympics where cities rush to build grand monuments to welcome the world, Paris’ ultimate direction with construction for the 2024 Summer Olympics is towards that of sustainability. With around 95% of the Olympic venues being existing or temporary facilities, Paris is definitely “organizing more responsible games”.

The stunning structure shown above, by architects Ateliers 2/3/4/, is one of the few new-build structures for this event. Comprised of a wood diaphragm, a timber catenary beams layer, and glulam columns/ties to bring it together, this is basically a timber engineer’s dream come true. Find some prompt inspo with Anthropic’s prompt library

The interesting thing with generative AI is that since the technology is so new, sometimes we honestly don’t know what we don’t know. Because of this, it is extremely helpful sometimes to look at libraries or repositories of prompts and lists of how others use the tool. One such resource is the Prompt Library from Anthropic, the company that just released the new Claude 3 model we talked a bit about last newsletter.

Quick Tips

Another Bluebeam Revu tip for the masses: did you know you can draw decent, CAD-style details with just the the following options turned on:

  • Snap to content in order to snap to the ends/midpoints of lines and shapes (ctrl+shift+f10)

  • Apply scale (use preset if your drawing is true to scale or custom otherwise) in order to draw actual sized lines

  • Use custom toolsets to save your favourite tool/options (with shortcuts too!)
